The Stephen F. Austin State University (SFA) STEM Building was a transformative project designed to enhance the university’s commitment to Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education. With a budget of $46.4 million approved by the Texas Legislature and the SFA Board of Regents, this facility serves as a central hub on campus, featuring collaborative classrooms, teaching and research laboratories, a significant maker space, and a 52-foot dome planetarium.
The design integrates student-centered learning environments and an extensive science-themed landscaped corridor that connects the new building to existing academic facilities, fostering a dynamic educational atmosphere.
