KDW Building Sika’s New Sealy Facility

Sika Corporation has broken ground on a new thermoplastic roofing production plant in Sealy, Texas — and KDW is proud to partner with Sika to bring the facility to life. The project marks our third collaboration with Sika and represents one of the most significant manufacturing investments in Austin County in recent years, recently recognized by Governor Greg Abbott.

The manufacturing facility will be constructed on a 12-acre site and will produce Sika’s full range of Sarnafil® and Sikaplan® thermoplastic roof membranes. Production is expected to begin in spring 2027, with the plant supporting new job creation in Austin County as operations ramp up.Sika’s investment positions the company closer to key markets across the western and southern United States while strengthening its roofing membrane supply chain. The new facility will also expand Sika’s closed-loop roof recycling program, which has taken back millions of pounds of end-of-life roofing membranes over its 20-year history.

KDW brings decades of experience delivering complex industrial and manufacturing facilities across Texas. Our design-build delivery model provides a single point of accountability from concept through construction, helping streamline schedules, manage risk, and deliver facilities tailored to each client’s operational needs.

We look forward to delivering a facility that will support Sika’s operations — and their sustainability commitments — for decades to come.
