Schulte Building Systems is one of the fastest-growing metal building manufacturers in the country — a trusted partner to architects, builders, contractors, and erectors across the industry. As SBS continues to scale, their Hockley, Texas facility needed to keep pace.

KDW completed a 73,500-square-foot expansion of their existing manufacturing facility, along with 76,000 square feet of supporting paving infrastructure. Because KDW did not build the original structure, the team had to cut into the existing building, shore up the entire roof, and set a 72-foot box beam to straddle the old and new construction — enabling crane operation across both. The existing crane beam was also shimmed and raised an inch and a half to accommodate the new cranes. The project expanded SBS’s production capacity while keeping their facility fully operational from start to finish.
