Position Summary
KDW is seeking a BIM Coordinator based on-site in Nacogdoches, Texas, to coordinate Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes across architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines on commercial and industrial design-build projects. The BIM Coordinator manages model setup, updates, and clash detection, and collaborates closely with project managers, designers, engineers, and field teams to resolve design conflicts and deliver accurate, fully integrated project models that support construction planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate BIM processes across architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines to ensure accurate, integrated project models
- Manage model setup, updates, and clash detection throughout the project lifecycle
- Collaborate with project managers, designers, engineers, and field teams to resolve design conflicts and support construction planning
- Maintain BIM standards and support project documentation
- Prepare model-based drawings and reports
- Assist with the implementation of best practices for digital design and coordination
- Participate in project meetings and support schedule and logistics planning through models
- Provide basic training and guidance on BIM tools and workflows to project team members
Qualifications
- Strong skills in BIM coordination, including model creation, management, and clash detection
- Solid understanding of architecture, with the ability to interpret drawings and integrate architectural requirements into coordinated models
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems and their coordination within BIM environments
Preferred Education & Experience
- Relevant education in construction management, architecture, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Proficiency in common BIM and design software (e.g., Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, or equivalent)
- Experience working in commercial or industrial construction environments
- Familiarity with construction documents and field practices
